Customer:
I’m interested in a 5 night 3 day fishing package in February for at least 4 people.. interested in room and fishing hopefully out of one place. thank you

Response:
Hello Mark,
We can help you with lodging, transportation, and of course a great sport fishing boat. If you would like to answer some basic questions we can put together a trip specific to your request.

What type of lodging do you prefer: Four or more people
Condo or villa that has 2 - 4 bedrooms
Multiple Hotel Rooms
Vacation Rental home or apartment

What boat length do you have in mind?:
32′ Up to four fishermen
36′ to 40′ Up to 6 fishermen

Where in Costa Rica do you want to fish? - Location:
The closest (about 2 hours) and by far the most popular is Los Suenos Resort/Marina in Jaco. It has everything you could imagine. Jaco beach is very close by and many people really enjoy the nightlife along the beach and in the town. There are many little clubs, restaurants, and stores for travel gifts.

Los Suenos - Town of Jaco centrally located on the Pacific Coast.

Tamarindo Fishing - Located in the far northwestern part of the country, 1/2 day trip or more from San Jose. Many options for lodging and things to do. In general you get a little more for the dollar because of the location. Fishing is equivalent to Los Suenos.

Quepos - 1/2 day trip or more from San Jose. Manuel Antonio National Park is a great place in which you can see a tropical jungle in its native state located next to Quepos. Fishing out of Quepos is also very good. The prices of the trips there are very similar to those in Los Suenos.

What type of transportation would you like?:
Shuttle van: Picks you up at the airport and takes you to your lodging location and takes you back to the airport when your trip is completed.

Or a Rental Car?

Would you like to go on any type of adventure tour in the mountains take some other type tour while you are here?

Can you give us an idea of your budget? This allows us to prepare a complete package and stay within your price range.

With that information we can put together everything you need from the time you get to the airport until which time you get back on the plane with exception to your free time.

Notes: Many people really enjoy the Monkey Bar in Jaco and Jaco Beatle Bar visiting. You might also want to check out the San Jose Webcam

Barra del Colorado River known for Tarpon

September 4th, 2007

Nature and fishing go hand in hand in Costa Rica’s Northern Caribbean. Located within that region, the Barra del Colorado Wildlife Refuge is not only famous for being one of the most diverse plant life areas of Costa Rica – offering shelter to many endangered species such as jaguars and tapirs – but also for being a location recognized for the many international fishing records that have been achieved in its waters. This region of forests, coasts and canals, bordering Nicaragua, is synonymous with various styles of sport fishing, such as fly, casting or rolling. An abundance of snook and tarpon plus other Caribbean fish species makes it an ideal environment for fishing aficionados. Authorization to fish inside the refuge is given by means of a license obtained at the information post of the Environmental and Energy Ministry, located next to the Barra del Colorado South community. One Week in Costa Rica with Three Days Fishing

September 4th, 2007

Hi Jim,
You have many options depending on where you want to go in Costa Rica for fishing. I would probably recommend Tamarindo actually for the type of fish you are looking for. We have a three day trip actually in which you head north out of Tamarindo in route to Nicaragua fishing on the way. There is area up there that few know about that constantly holds record class Roosterfish. You actually stay at a hotel in Nicaragua for two nights while fishing in that area. The third day you return to Tamarindo, Costa Rica. This is done all from a 42′ boat making the trip very comfortable.

Los Suenos Resort/Marina is a great place also because it is a world class resort with a marina like you might see in Florida, less it has mountains. It is just under two hours from San Jose where the main airport is located, whereas Tamarindo can take up to 6 hours to drive to from there.

Los Suenos offers both great inshore and deep sea fishing. Billfishing is the most popular, but also many clients that come down for a multiple day fishing vacation will spend one day inshore for big game fish and another deep sea fishing.

January and February are very popular for fishing, so it is a good thing that you are making your plans early. You still have time, so you don’t have to make up your mind immediately.

Are you going to be staying in the Jaco Beach / Los Suenos area?

Do you need any transportation such as a small shuttle bus or are you renting a car?

Let me know if we can put together the perfect Costa Rica Fishing Vacation some options for you that will meet your budget and insure an excellent trip.
