Where: Tamarindo
When: Right Now, early February 2008
Why: The guys have been catching a lot of big Marlin, mainly blues and some blacks. Also sails are doing great. Water conditions have been fantastic with little or no wind. This will change any day.
Best time of year?
That depends where you’re going. Quepos gets the bite first typically followed by each main area going north along the coast. Jaco should be next actually starting anytime now with excellent fishing for both Marlins and sails. Fishing there in general is good now, but it will get better for Marlin over the next few months.
So if you’re planning a vacation around the season, let me know and we can narrow it down. Also let me know if you do or want to do any fly fishing for billfish or not.
